A downloadable game for Windows and Linux

Step into a world of cosmic horror with Lovecraft Tales, a detective game that adapts the stories of H.P. Lovecraft.

In this mind-bending adventure, you’ll lead your own investigation, exploring haunting realms where every clue reveals darker truths. Adapted from Lovecraft’s twisted works, you’ll be tasked with solving each mystery before it consumes you.

Kickstarter

This is the game's prototype for our finished Kickstarter Campaign. The project's funding goal was not reached but I want to continue to develop it on my free time.

Obviously, it will take time, but I will use this time to grow a community around it and the start point is this itch page.

Prototype

Actually, ALL ELEMENTS OF THIS PROTOTYPE ARE PLACEHOLDERS, the characters, the rooms, the story, the dialogue, the UI, the music, even the game engine, all are placeholders and are here to show what are our intentions.

I know that on windows, when we want to start the game they have a big warning message saying that it's a virus. Not at all, but I do not know how to fix it now.

Yes, all these screenshots are placeholders, but they show where the game is going.

Keyword dialogue system

Lovecraft Tales introduces a unique keyword dialogue system. Inspired by classic games, you’ll interact with NPCs by typing specific keywords, uncovering new ones hidden in conversations, object descriptions, or environmental clues. Every keyword you find could be the key to unraveling the mystery—or falling deeper into madness.

Interact with characters using a unique keyword-driven system.

Purpose

The purpose of this prototype is to show the dialogue system and how it can be used to improve an investigation game.

The dialogue system is designed to engage players by requiring them to type keywords directly. This approach allows for a more immersive experience, as players actively search for keywords encouraging them to think critically about what might work. The are hidden in NPC answers, object descriptions, and the environment, it's an excited experience to have the freedom to experiment with different words.

The game does not hold the players' hands. It allows them to piece together clues and uncover solutions independently. Brute-forcing is not possible here, true progress relies on the player’s intuition and investigative skills.
